Nursery World report this week that according to Ofsted, From Dec 2009 to March 2010 more than 11,000 childcare places have been lost.
That’s 248 fewer nurseries! While 481 opened, 720 Early Years settings closed.
The good news however is that it's still thought the industry is continuing to come out of the worst of the recessionary impact, and that occupancy levels should gradually rise over the next 5 years.
